This vertically straight plank has a little of everything and would be equally suitable art surface for mounting a digital photo or as a painting medium.
The bark has a nice curvature and has a partial knot-hole.
Some bark is missing where logging chains were used in harvesting and/or transportation.
The very wide wood-grain in the heart and on the tapered ends clearly indicates that this was an extremely fast growing Incense Cedar tree.
